Article 11 explained in plain English
This article contains two provisions:
- The board's term: 3 years.
- The limit on terms: the members referred to in paragraph (g) of Article 9, who are the five members from among the Association's regular members, may not be appointed for more than two terms.
The maximum period any of these members can remain on the board is therefore two terms, that is, 6 years. The restriction is specific to this category; the text sets no limit on the terms of the other members, such as the representatives of government bodies or faculty members.
The article was amended by Council of Ministers Resolution No. (143) dated 18/2/1447 AH to read as set out above, which is the text in force.
The article is linked to Article 10, which ends the membership of the five members by resignation or by absence from 3 consecutive meetings or 6 separate meetings «in a single term», so the term fixed here is the frame within which absence is counted.
It is also linked to Article 9, which requires these five members to be up to date in paying membership fees for the last 3 years and not to have had a final disciplinary decision issued against any of them.
