Article 6 of the Saudi Bar Association Statute

This article sets the rules for the general assembly's meetings:

• The ordinary meeting: held within 90 days of the start of each financial year of the Association.
• Chairing the meeting: by the chair of the board of directors or whomever they delegate among the board members.
• Quorum: a meeting is valid only with at least half the members attending. If it is not met, an invitation is sent for another meeting within a period of not less than 15 days and not more than 60 days from the date of the first meeting, and this meeting is valid with those who attend.
• Extraordinary meetings: they may be held as the regulations provide.
• Representation of the Ministry of Justice: the Ministry may assign someone to represent it at the meetings.
• Decisions: by a majority of the votes of the members present, and the chair of the meeting has the casting vote when votes are equal.
• The invitation: sent by the chair of the board at least 30 days before the meeting, stating the time and place of the meeting and its agenda.

The practical meaning for a core member is that if at least half the members do not attend the first meeting, another meeting is held that is valid with those who attend, and its decisions are made by a majority of the votes of those present. Following invitations and agendas is therefore important, because the assembly consists of all core members under Article 5.
