Article 60 explained in plain English
This article sets out the benefits of museums that hold the "Saudi Museum" logo.
Paragraph (1) – Financial support: the Authority may, under controls set by the regulations:
- Provide financial support to private museums that hold the logo.
- Support them with government and private funding sources to obtain subsidies or loans used to develop the museums.
Paragraph (2) – Scientific and technical support: a museum that holds the logo is entitled to:
- Benefit from the Authority's expertise and obtain its scientific and technical support in display, preserving, maintaining and restoring exhibits, and operation and management.
- Obtain international expertise in these fields under joint cooperation programs between the Authority and world museums and the specialized international bodies.
Note the difference in wording: the financial support in the first paragraph is permissive ("the Authority may") and limited to private museums that hold the logo, while the scientific and technical support in the second paragraph is a right ("is entitled") of every museum that holds the logo.
This article is connected to Article 59, which requires a museum to preserve, maintain, restore and display its collections; scientific and technical support helps the museum carry out these duties. Anyone who runs a private museum and wants to benefit from these advantages can refer to the controls set by the regulations.
