Article 20 explained in plain English
This Article is a referral to the Implementing Regulations, as it provides that the Implementing Regulations determine:
- The procedures for paying compensation amounts.
- The times of payment.
The Law itself does not set the payment day in the month or how amounts reach the beneficiary, so the Law alone cannot be relied on to know when compensation is paid; the Implementing Regulations must be consulted.
How does this Article connect to the rest of the Law?
- The General Organization for Social Insurance pays compensation to beneficiaries, as Article 5 provides.
- Entitlement begins on the first day of the month following the conditions being met, provided registration is within 90 days of leaving work, under Articles 9 and 10.
- The amount is calculated under Articles 11 and 12, and Article 13 sets its maximum duration.
Article 19 comes before it, allowing compensation to be combined with specified social insurance compensations, and Article 21 comes after it, barring seizure of or assignment of the compensation except under the conditions set for wages in the Labor Law.
If a beneficiary's compensation is paid later than the times set by the Implementing Regulations, they may object to the Organization's decision through the routes the Law provides, and may consult a lawyer specialized in social insurance.
