Conditions for Municipal Council Membership in the Saudi Municipalities Law
شروط عضوية المجلس البلدي — نظام البلديات والقرى
A member must be Saudi (or naturalized for ten years), at least twenty-five, permanently resident in the municipality, without a hudud sentence, imprisonment for a crime of dishonor or breach of trust, or disciplinary dismissal unless five years have passed, literate, not fraudulently bankrupt. Incompatible: sitting on two councils, working or contracting with the municipality, and company roles.
