يُقسم مفتشو العمل- قبل مباشرة أعمال وظائفهم- أمام الوزير بأن يؤدوا أعمالهم بأمانة وإخلاص، وألّا يفشوا سر أي اختراع صناعي، أو غير ذلك من الأسرار التي يطلعون عليها بحكم وظائفهم ولو بعد انقطاع عملهم بهذه الوظائف، ويحمل مفتش العمل بطاقة من الوزارة تثبت صفته.

تم تعديل هذه المادة بموجب المرسوم الملكي رقم ( م/ 46) وتاريخ 5 / 6 / 1436 هـ ؛ لتكون بالنص الآتي :
"يلتزم مفتشو العمل - قبل مباشرتهم لمهماتهم - بتوقيع تعهد وفق النموذج الذي تعده الوزارة، يتضمن التزامهم بأداء عملهم بكل أمانة وإخلاص، وألا يفشوا سرَّ أيِّ اختراعٍ صناعيٍّ، أو غير ذلك من الأسرار التي يطلعون عليها بحكم عملهم. ويحمل مفتش العمل بطاقة من الوزارة تثبت صفته".
