Article 34 of the Saudi Narcotics Law Implementing Regulations

This article supplements a provision in Article 47 of the Law of Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (the reference there is "/3") by specifying the substances and their quantities as an upper limit referred to there. The available text does not show the content of Article 47 of the Law, so this article on its own does not explain the effect that follows from these quantities.

The table: it contains 33 items, including for example:

• Poppy (opium): 100mg; cannabis and its resin (hashish and marijuana): 100mg; khat: 1000mg.
• Fentanyl: 10mg; oxycodone: 0.5g; methadone: 1g.
• Diazepam: 150mg; lorazepam: 37.5mg; buprenorphine: 150mg.
• The amphetamines group: ten tablets.

The quantities differ greatly between substances: some are in milligrams, some in grams, and amphetamines by number of tablets.

Amendment: the Minister of Interior, in coordination with the Minister of Health, may amend the types of substances and their quantities in the table. The table published here may therefore not be the one in force at a later time if an amendment is issued.

Important note: the phrase "the permitted quantity as an upper limit" is tied to the provision of Article 47 of the Law, and its meaning or effect cannot be inferred from this article alone.
