Pesticide Crimes and Animal Abuse in the Saudi Agriculture Law

Imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of up to SAR 10,000,000 for manufacturing or importing banned or adulterated pesticides, harming livestock, bringing in banned resources and obstructing inspectors. Also investigation by the Public Prosecution and the competent court, precautionary suspension of the activity, and rewards for informants of up to SAR 50,000.

Anyone who manufactures or imports a banned or adulterated pesticide, harms animals, brings in banned resources, or obstructs inspectors is punished by up to 5 years' imprisonment and a fine of up to SAR 10 million, or either.

- Article 29
The Public Prosecution, in accordance with its law, investigates the violations referred to in Article 28 of the Agriculture Law and prosecutes them before the competent court.
تتولى النيابة العامة -وفقًا لنظامها- التحقيق في المخالفات المشار إليها في المادة (الثامنة والعشرين) من النظام؛ والادعاء أمام المحكمة المختصة.

The competent court handles the violations in Article 28 and their penalties, and may order confiscation, a daily fine, doubled penalties for repeat offenses and publication of a summary of the judgment.

The Minister grants a financial reward of no more than SAR 50,000 to non-inspectors who help uncover violations of the Agriculture Law and its Implementing Regulations.
يمنح الوزير مكافأة مالية لمن يساعد -من غير المفتشين- في الكشف عن أي من مخالفات أحكام النظام واللائحة. وتحدد بقرار من الوزير قواعد توزيع المكافآت، على ألَّا يتجاوز مبلغ المكافأة (50000) خمسين ألف ريال.
