Article 14 of the Saudi Security Surveillance Cameras Law

This article sets the technical and security standards that those subject to the Law must comply with, in two paragraphs:

1. The conditions document: compliance with the security conditions and requirements and technical specifications it contains. Bodies under the supervision of the Supreme Authority for Industrial Security must also comply, in addition to the provisions of the Law and the conditions document, with the security specifications issued by that authority. That is, these bodies have a double obligation.
2. Cybersecurity: managing and using the systems connected to the camera devices by applying what is issued by the National Cybersecurity Authority and what the conditions document provides.

The practical aim is that the cameras and their storage and management systems conform to the specifications and are technically protected. The article does not state the details of these specifications; they are found in the conditions document and what the two authorities issue.

If a penalty decision is issued against one of these bodies under the Law, it may under Article 13 challenge it before the Administrative Court within 60 days of being notified of the decision. Article 15 allows a reward to be given to anyone who helps in detecting violations of the Law.
