Article 7 of the Saudi Private Laboratories Law

This article regulates the financial and time aspect of licensing a private laboratory, in two paragraphs:

Paragraph (a) – Fees: the competent authority issues the licence after payment of the licence fee, which is:

• SAR 5,000 for the main laboratory.
• SAR 2,500 for each branch.

Paragraph (b) – Period and renewal:

• The licence is valid for five years, starting from the date of the period in Article 6, which is the period of no more than a year and a half from the date of obtaining the licence to complete accreditation from the Center.
• The licence is renewed on a request from the interested party submitted to the competent authority at least three months before the date its term ends.
• Renewal is from the date the licence ends, not from the date of submitting the request.

This article was amended by Royal Decree No. M/31 dated 6/4/1443 AH, and the text presented is the text in force.

The competent authority that issues the licence and to which the renewal request is submitted is the relevant government body according to its definition in Article 1. It is important to note the renewal date, as the article requires the request to be submitted at least three months before the term ends.
