Article 11 of the Saudi Endowments Authority Law

This article provides for creating the advisory committee, which is a permanent committee:

• It is formed by decision of the Board, at the Authority's head office.
• Its members are not members of the Board and not Authority staff, which ensures its opinions come from outside the executive management.
• It is organizationally linked to the Board.
• It is responsible for giving Sharia, legal, financial, economic, investment and social advice.

Composition of the committee (7 members):

• Two specialists in economics and investment.
• Two Sharia specialists in financial and economic transactions who have knowledge and experience in endowments.
• A specialist in laws, a financial specialist, and a social specialist.

Organizational provisions: the decision forming the committee names its chairman and deputy from among its members, membership lasts three years, renewable only once, it has a secretariat with enough specialist staff, and it prepares internal regulations for the conduct of its work, which the Board approves.

It is followed by Article 12, which creates the internal control and audit committee with almost the same structure: a Board decision, members from outside the Board and the Authority, and a term of three years renewable only once, with differences in composition and responsibility.
