الأسباب التي تعتبر مقبولة نظاما لطرد الملاحين هي
أولا: عدم قابليتهم للخدمة.
ثانيا: عدم طاعتهم.
ثالثا: إدمانهم على السكر.
رابعا: المعاملة بالجبر والضرب داخل السفينة وباقي الأخلاق القبيحة إجمالا التي تكون باعثا لإخلال انتظام السفينة.
خامسا: ترك السفينة والانصراف بلا إذن .
سادسا: العدول عن السفر بأسباب مجبرة أو جائزة نظاما.
