How do I ask a free legal question?
How to write and publish your question, the daily limit, and what happens after you send it.
Last updated:
You can ask your question for free and specialist lawyers from our directory answer it. You need to be signed in.
Steps
- Open Ask your question (or Ask a lawyer in the menu).
- Write the question title (at least 10 characters). For example: "Am I entitled to end-of-service pay if I resign after 4 years?"
- Write the details (at least 30 characters): what happened, when, and what you want to know.
- Pick the question category by pressing the closest one (such as Labour), optionally narrow it with Exact category, or leave Categorise it for me. The category is how your question reaches specialist lawyers. Choose a city if you wish.
- Decide how your name appears. Details
- Press Publish my question.
What happens after you send it?
An automatic review removes personal data and decides one of three outcomes:
- Published immediately: you go to your question's page, and specialist lawyers matching its category and city are emailed.
- Under review: "We received your question — our team will review it before publishing (usually within hours)". You get an email when it is published.
- Not published: "We couldn't publish your question" with the reasons. What now?
You get an email when the first answer arrives. You can also see your questions and their status on the same page under My questions (shown in Arabic as «أسئلتي»).
Daily limit
You can ask 5 questions in any 24 hours. After that you see "You've reached today's question limit. Please try again tomorrow."
