Article 30 of the Saudi Public Prosecution Law

This is the final article of the Law, and it contains two provisions:

1. Publication: the Law is published in the Official Gazette.
2. Entry into force: it takes effect from the date of its publication, that is, with no interval between publication and effect.

This means the Law's provisions become applicable from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette. The text does not contain the date of publication itself, so it is found in the details of the Law's publication.

The article therefore allows no interval between publication and the start of operation, but ties the Law's effect directly to the date of publication. Anyone who wants to know when the Law's provisions became binding should therefore refer to the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Publication in the Official Gazette is the means by which people and bodies learn of the Law, and from its date the Law becomes applicable to those addressed by its provisions.

This article is linked to Article 29, which provides that the Law repeals provisions that conflict with it; from the date of publication the Law begins to operate and the provisions conflicting with it are repealed.
